Deals for Fifth Friday

This page provides access to the deals for the Fifth Friday tournaments.

The Fifth Friday tournaments were world-wide quasi-simultaneous bridge tournaments organized by local bridge clubs from 1997 through 2007. Herman De Wael handled the necessary central administrative tasks.  The series petered out in 2008.

Where did these deals come from?

Alesia Software also provides Shufflix, which is a free fast WWW-based dealing service that anyone can use to get unique deals for their own tournaments.  You are welcome to try it out.

Having problems downloading?

• Make sure you have the right password.
• The Microsoft Word format and the PDF file are produced after the rest of the files.  If everything else seems to be in order but these files are not available, that is probably because they have yet to be generated.  Please be patient and try again some other day.
• If you are having problems using a PBN file, note that the deals are provided in a PBN export format, and your application may require the PBN import format. One way of converting is to use the PBN verifier, available on the PBN Home Page. This problem was first seen when trying to feed deals to GIB in January 1999.
• Note that the PBN file is still in version 1.0 of PBN. The dealing software KG has not made the leap to PBN 2.0.  Shufflix does, however, support PBN 2.0, including the strict formatting.
